Part 3

Now that I've used a Save Point to replenish my health, we shall press on.

The Gladius is barely better than the Short Sword so we'll equip it; the more power the better is how it works in my books.
This Life Max Up can be troublesome to get due to the tight space I have to jump through. You would want to time your jumps well.

Otherwise shit like this can happen.

The best to get this is to get a running start from right near where the pit is. It may take a few tries but you should eventually reach it.

Who doesn't like these?
After accidentally falling off the ledge and having to backtrack my way to where I was; I managed to get a Level Up for my troubles. With every cloud there's a silver lining is how to sum it up.

It seems as though we can't access this lift until we hit a switch at the top of the area. I'm not using the "I'll be back" joke because it ran its course after it was first used.
This exit leads to the Long Library; I won't start this until I've done everything that's accessible to me as of now.

The bestiary also gets more interesting as we climb higher through this tower. Good thing too; Axe Lords are hardly what you call interesting or challenging.
The door here leads to a warp point, which we can use to head back to the entrance, I'll use it later because there's still more we can explore. Although this does mean I have to fight more fucking Medusa Heads, they always have to show up and ruin the fun.

This Sword Lord, a very badass looking enemy, appears to be the guardian of the console locking the elevator. Too bad it's a big enemy, meaning we've got another glass cannon against us.
Medusa Heads are assholes but the golden ones are shitheads who can be dumped in the miserable little pile of hate!
Yay! That means we don't have to face as many Medusa Heads.

This vase, which contains a Heart Max Up, is also a dick to get. It doesn't help how Medusa Heads can come along and ruin your timed jumps.
The best way of doing things is to use the Triangle button, Y in the Xbox 360 version, then jump; this will at least allow you to gather some speed without having to run and get knocked back by Medusa Heads.

The Bible will allow us to have a temporary shield which we can use. It's good but I prefer the power and length of stuff like the Holy Water, use it if it suits you though.
If you're wondering why I'm on full health; it's because I recently went to a save point.
The Clock Tower is usually a place that haunts most Castlevania fans, myself included. This version may not be easy but it's more bearable than other incarnations; probably because of our spells and the lack of a live system. The icing on the cake of this area is the brilliant piece of music that plays there. The only drawbacks of it are that it has hardly any remixes and the name of it. Why the fuck "The Tragic Prince?" It sounds too upbeat for such a name and said tragic prince is clearly Alucard. I can understand that he believes that the blood that flows in his body is cursed but he doesn't act that tragic about it from what I've been seeing.
The bestiary here is not recycled from previous areas for a change, sure they're just some skulls but it makes a pleasant change from the same Axe Lords and Goblins.
The bridge here will soon crumble once you set foot on it. Guess we'll need to come back here once we have the Soul of Bat.

Speaking of animal morphing, we can now access the Soul of Wolf!
With nothing for it to do! If Alucard hated shirts then Bella Swan would be screwing this full package without thinking twice. I couldn't resist. Seriously though, if Alucard was more memorable, what would those Teen Vampires and Teen Werewolves think about him being able to be both?
This is how the lift works in this game. No wonder Alucard screams once it comes down, I sure wouldn't want to be going down at a high speed and in such a small space.
We can now see how Warp Points work in this game.
In order to warp: you go in the center of what looks like a lock, press up, warp, and exit the area. It can be quite annoying later on because you can't choose which place to warp to; meaning you could be spending most of the time trying to check you map and hope that you're at the right point. It isn't too much of a bother if you can get used to it.

Remember that from Part 1?
There was something that I was able to do when I cleared that shortcut in the Marble Gallery which I completely forgot about here. To do this you need to jump down from here and keep the D-Pad to the left.

You can then jump to the right and claim your prize. I'm pretty sure that's all we can do in the entrance before having the Soul of Bat.
After all that, we can take the first doorway in that tower part and head for the Long Library.

A boss won't be battled in this part but the next one we battle is at Level 16; meaning we would want as many of the Level Ups as we can.
Uncurses will be useful for specific enemies which we'll be facing soon.
The area to the left will allow bring us to a corridor with quite a lot of rooms.
When I said this corridor had a lot of rooms, I meant that it would seem like this.

Our grand prize, alongside the map completion, is the Bronze Cuirass. I suppose it's good for increasing our defenses but I was expecting something a bit higher up for going through all this.
On the way back, one the enemies was nice enough to drop a Rapier. This is definitely going on Alucard right away. I guess that was my reward for going through that gauntlet of Fleamen, and there was me claiming that the bestiary was becoming more varied.
These are the enemies that we needed the Uncurse for, Ectoplasm. They can be quite annoying to kill at this point of the game because of how bulky and evasive they are in contrast to your rather weak weapons.
Curse isn't a nice status to have because it disables you from using weapons, except the sub-weapons, and spells. Uncurse it as soon as possible.
What the fuck is with the sound Ectoplasm make when they get killed anyway? It sounds like those weird cartoon characters who are trying to sound wacky but end up making you want them erased from existence.
Dracula hates his customers so much that he gets the librarian to send books which kill them. What a dick! At least these books aren't too hard to deal with though; otherwise they would be spineless.
Die plant! You don't belong in this world!

All of these ledges are currently too high for us to reach; and for good reason considering how the boss in this area is at too high of a level for us to deal with.
I'm guessing these books are so good that we gain Exp from them. I'm guessing the 1790s had some pretty skilled authors or they were Shakespeare playbooks.
Inside this part is the Master Librarian; I'll see him because meeting him will trigger a cutscene and he sells an item which is mandatory for getting through the rest of the game. I won't show the song because it will never leave your head otherwise.
I'm guessing this guy has such a soft spot for Alucard that he got a frog in throat and suddenly sounded 20 years younger.
I'm guessing Alucard saw this guy as a surrogate father figure of sorts considering hoe Dracula is out of the question at this sort of stuff.
Get it!? He says constantly says "master" because he's the Master Librarian. Or perhaps he's very polite towards vampires.
Alucard must've known him long enough to know his weaknesses. That's going by my estimate and thinking that the reward is some loot.
What a pig!
I would show you the process of me buying items but the current GPU I'm using hates the text screen and taking screenshots using my other one creates glitchy images. That's just the way the cookie crumbles I'm afraid.
See look at this! It will always show text otherwise. The relic I got was the Jewel of Open, which was the one which could open the blue door near where Slogra and Gaibon were.
I also bought a Saber for me to use instead of the Rapier, it won't happen again though considering how I usually refrain from shop bought weapons. They're good early game though.

After a run in with some bigger and meaner books, because all of a sudden books now have emotion, I managed to obtain the Faerie Scroll. That will be handy for me remember the names of the more forgettable enemies in the game when I'm writing about them.
