Let's see what's in there then.
The room on the left is a Save Point, in case you needed to heal up from this difficult area.
Judging by how there are two max ups here, I'm guessing that story progression will occur here.
Thankfully it will go slowly enough for Alucard not to scream about it.
Went off for a cry I assume.
Maria's voice is recognizable for the wrong reasons.
At least she apologized for her embarrassing behavior.
If you were able to smell his blood then you should've known you're evidence was more convincing than Maria's denial.
A cool twist of fate could be that someone wasn't controlling him. Then again, a naughty Belmont just wouldn't do it.
Sentimental value doesn't mean shit for Alucard.
I'm beginning to wonder why Maria doesn't find Richter herself. Then again, I'm guessing she just stays here and comes to Alucard when she thinks he's slacking off on the job.
Maria thankfully keeps quiet after this.
To the Castle Keep!
Time to explore what we can of the bits before Richter.
I wonder what would've happened if Richter found that before battling Dracula.
I wonder who is meant to figure this out on their first try?
This switch doesn't require the Demon, thankfully.
One would wonder why I never used this to gain more hearts to spam Hydro Storm on the first Dracula fight. Ah well, you only live once.
Being lord of this castle must be hungry work.
And Richter isn't using these because?
Oh, I see.
Let's go and get him!
And what is with that stupid sword?
Guess the wine Dracula threw tasted good and Richter wanted to find out where he bought it.
That's actually an interesting motive for mind control, rather than for cliched reasons like guilt or envy. Shame the fake British accent forces me not to take this seriously.
Even Alucard fails to see black and white morality from this.
Whilst a full fight with Richter is optional, this is a cool setup. I dunno, I'm a bit of a sucker for these fights when you're pitted against someone with similar skills to you, like the fight against Knuckles in S3&K. If you defeat Richter without getting the Holy Glasses, then you'll get the bad ending where Alucard looks at the castle and ponders on what controlled Richter. If you defeat Richter with the Holy Glasses, Alucard and Maria agree that it had to be done and Maria will look into what controlled him.
The motive here is attack the green orb enough times.
Just like that!
I love how Shaft debuted in this game in the US. I hear he wasn't in the SNES Rondo of Blood, then again who the hell played that?
Go on then!
Oh shit, epic cutscene. So Dracula can be summoned from a black hole?
Oh shit! An upside down version of castle, in the sky!
Don't worry Richter; I've got a knife for you to aim yourself with.
The gang's all here.
Gratuitous Castlevania 3 reference is gratuitous. Nah really, it at least does something rather than exist for no reason.
Spell my name backwards and then realize why I'm still here and looking like a pretty boy.
Darn, I wanted to play the Richter, Alucard and Maria go to McDonalds minigame.
I love how in the XBLA version there is no scene where the Inverted Castle summons. Meaning Alucard will be talking about an invisible castle.
At least we won't have to see them for the rest of the game.
Why would I need luck when I'd have some game breakers on my side at the castle?
Hurray for force-walking!
I would want to go back to Master Librarian's joint to see if I got all the encounters at this castle.
May God have helped us if Richter used that in the battle.
I also loaded my save file and yes, I have 100.1%.
I have all the encounters I can get here, one here is blank because it's exclusive to the Inverted Castle.
Mudman is only available through the Lesser Demon fight. Be sure to allow the battle to go on long enough for you to encounter one.
