Part 7

Now that we've backtracked what we can without the use of a bat; we can head to the Long Library. But first I'll grab this Holy Water.
Hi guys I'm back!
We'll need the bat to get to this part; thankfully it won't be waiting for too long.

I wonder if it would've put up a challenge had it actually came out of the roots.
They're nice enough to give us an extra Save Point before moving on.

And I can see why they gave us one. Flea Armor make Fleamen look like Axe Armor.

This makes a change from yet another area which the bat can only access.

What a fine collection of books here, shame Dracula never had the time to sit down and read "Acting 101". It was a best seller at those times.
I don't know why a Stone Mask was hiding in a candle?
If the Intelligence is increased then maybe I should wear this one.
Whilst pushing a bookcase has got to be such a simple method of finding a secret area; I don't first timers would have the dignity to ram into a dead end and hope for the best.

I was expecting this restricted section to have Master Librarian's porn stash but this equipment is better than nothing.

Usually I would complain about my HP being too low for the boss but it'll probably be another one which I can just use a quick Soul Steal on.
I was personally expecting a door to separate the two rooms apart.

The Lesser Demon won't be cutting our health down to nothing but it will like to use a barrier more often than not and get some enemies to do the dirty work for him.
You should time when you use your spells and strike when he's off guard, obviously, and he'll look as pathetic as the rest of the bosses we've encountered.
Had I not been spamming my favorite spells, I would've welcomed that Life Max Up.
No wonder this area was guarded by a stalling demon; Master Librarian probably threw a temper tantrum after Mummy Librarian confiscated his Frankfurters.
Mist could pass, after running about the place to gather MP.

We've finally got that relic which the game was teasing us about for a long time.
I fucking love this thing so much; flying to areas which were previously inaccessible are always a bonus.
Having the ability to perform a "shine spark' is also a bonus.

The area we previously couldn't access in the Library contains a fair few nick-knacks; including Faerie Card.
The Faerie Card will summon a fairy, and no it's not like Navi from Zelda thank goodness, she'll mainly inform you if any areas are secret or not.
In early Japanese versions of the game: if you would sit on one of these chairs with the fairy, she would start singing a track called Nocturne. It was removed from the Japanese version for unknown reasons. It was brought into the US version with the PSP release and given English lyrics. I think the song is a rather nice piece which should've been the credit theme of the game. This information probably lacked any form of research.
With the new bat, we can finally explore the rest of the caverns.
This sword is alright but I'm not a big fan of double handed items, I find them to be slower to use than single handed ones.
Someone must be quite greedy to keep all this stuff here.
Perhaps more gluttonous if anything else.
Ah well, raiding their kitchen will mean I won't go hungry.

All of these are Meal Tickets except this bottom one. I'll equip this Moonstone because of the numerous stat boosts I can get out of the deal.

The left room is a Save Point and the room on the right leads to a boss which is quite over leveled at this point of the game. We'll sit this one out for now.
Deja vu?
Because of the Merman Statue, there is now a sailor who can escort us to a new area.

You need to get that throat cleared.
Take your time.
Fuck yeah! This will finally allow us to do something other than suffer underwater.
Let's dive!
I would've said I was seafaring if this wasn't a grotty cave.
We could've got this when being rowed but I didn't want to be left behind.

Now that's what I call treasure.

An underwater version of Bone Pillars. I'd say they're more fishious.
Or perhaps not, I hate it when the lame puns are pointless.
This weapon can allow me to hit opponents twice. Sounds good but will probably get old and weak quickly.
I completely forgot to do this in my first time here.
Just watch these suckers drown. One would wonder who told them to stand guard here.

One step closer to the level I need to be for the next boss.
These things sure like being underwater.

To the left of the waterfall we can get a new shield and can get a Skeleton Ape to appear near that wooden bridge.

This is the one in question.
See look, he was nice enough to break it up for us.

I'll return the favor by killing him for fun and hogging all the goodies.
Just below, we can access a brand new area. We won't go in depth here because we'll be faced with another high leveled boss.
Someone's getting showy.

With the bat we can finally explore this area rather than free-fall like an idiot.
I wouldn't trust a mushroom growing on a cliff. Then again we're talking about people who eat roast dinners inside walls. There is no real need to make jokes around nitpicking at this point.

This cove here contains a Life Max Up. No wonder a Frozen Shade is guarding this one, this Life Max Up is what may seem like our hundredth one in this game.
I never got round to showing you what the combination of the Shield Rod and Herald Shield looked like. Needless to say I would love to see how this had flown if it was a Nintendo game. I suppose the protection from elemental powers could handy

You would probably need to position yourself quite well to get these boots considering how you have little control when going down the waterfall.
Like with the secret boots, you should do trial and error at the top of the waterfall to get completion in this particular room.

I love Killerfish so much; they give you at least 200 Exp when you defeat them at these points of the game. Their deaths won't be vain considering how I'm now at the right level to fight the next boss.
But first for some more backtracking which shall continue next part. Who would've thought that the game had so much stuff that it wanted to keep off us till we had better power-ups alongside us.
